I see it is 99 dollars at kellyco 10x14" DD Excelerator all of there coils i have used work great .Does anyone have this on there ace 250 and how much depth do you get and how about separation or how good is it ?

Hi Fred.
I tried to find the 10x14 Excelerator coil on Kellyco's website but couldn't. I did E-mail Garrett last week with a request for them to make DD coils for the Ace; specifically a 5x10 DD. They did indicate that there were after market coils around for the Ace, but apart from an SEF coil, that seems to be nearly impossible to get hold of, I'm not aware of any DD coils being available.:( They did take the request on board though. How did you locate the 10x14 coil on the Kellyco web site? I tried by clicking on search coils and then trying to find Excelerartors coils through the Minelab links. I had tried going through the Garrett links recently, but only found Garrett coils.
thanks.
Mick Evans.

Yeah. The 9x12 coil is a very good coil. It seemed a bit more subtle than the standard coil for hearing the pinpoint fade, but I'm real interested in hearing target responses to a DD coil on the Ace. I'm totally sold on the 5x10 DD coil on the GTI. I'm waiting to see what is going to transpire with some here in Oz, and if nothing is forthcoming over the next couple of weeks, I'll have to order from Kellyco. I hope that Garrett will make some DD coils, as I'm sure that there is quite a sizable market for them.

I have the EQ2 and I like it. It'll go 14" depth easy and cover a whole lot of area at once.
If you are in a ball field or open area and are going to grid it, this is the coil.
It will save time and energy just because of the size.
It is a little heavier but well balanced, so once you get used to the swing it will be fine.
It will give your forearm a workout.

Pinpointing took a little getting use to, because of the double D configuration.
I usually de-tune and pinpoint off the front tip. It's pretty accurate on coins. I usually run 4-5 bars on sensitivity.
Just be prepared to switch to the sniper in trashy areas as that 10x14" will make your ACE sing like a bird in trash.

It was a great investment at $169, so at $99 it's a steal.
Kellyco is a great company to work with. Raul was very knowledgeable and knew all the particulars of the coil.
