If you haven't seen this it's kind of an eye opener. At least it was for me.

Wow,that is a great video, looks like it’s time to start saving for an HF coil.

Don't know for sure but I would think so.

There are friendly arguments as to which is best.

Most of the folks I know have the 9" circular one and my highest frequency is 58.85.

That seems to be just fine for traditional detecting landscapes.

Certainly its a big step forward having the small battery pod in the bottom shaft for self removal and replacement should the day ever arrive.

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.

Would the elliptical hf perform about the same?
Gary's school videos are really good!
I have the elliptical but not the round so I can't compare but the HF elliptical is a super separator on heavy trashy sites
Laplander

since i am looking for hoards i prefer to stick with the LF coils that can run at 4 and 8 khz

I chose the 9.5 elliptical HF because I do a lot of tot lot hunting. It lets me get really close in to the playground equipment without feeling goodies are being masked by the iron. I hav e a fair number of goodies not more than 3" from a metal poll.
