550-d has some discrimination. I never used either but 550 would get my vote.
 
been a long time since i used the tr-550-d. you can tune out all pulltabs if you want. i'm not sure about zinc pennies because i'd moved on to the whites 6000-di by the time they came out. i believe it is pobably better that some of the newer bounty hunters.
