Having Problems

Ok I have a X-TERRA 505 that until this morning was working fine. I went to look at my detector this morning just because. I paid a lot for her I better look at her some lol. Well I notice on the screen under it is two small spots of condensation. Not sure how it got there. Then I go to turn it on starts right up but then it won't shut off. I pull the batteries to try and fix it it didn't work. Then it starts to turn off again do I figure ok well it was a fluke. I press the all metal button and it turns off. It keeps turning off everytime I hit that button. Then I check to see if any other buttons do anything. The pinpoint button does the same thing. I'm not sure what happened I used just last night. I already contacted minelab. I'm waiting on a reply now. Any ideas on what it could be?

Don't turn the detector on inside just in case.

Some people have issues with the springs inside the battery compartment. They get a little worn out because some batteries are slightly longer than others. The springs need to be GENTLY tugged on to remedy the issue. You can see them at the bottom of the battery tray. I turn my 705 sideways to load the batteries so they do NOT drop onto the springs with gravity. Have not had a issue yet *Knock on wood*

You can also try a factory reset.

If not send it to minelab

Put the controll box in a bag with dry rice it will suck the moisture out and what badbaja said. But until the unit is dry/no condensation I would not turn it on.

Ok the condensation was very very small. The problem I'm worried about was the not turning off by the power button and turning off when I pin pointed and put it in all metal mode. The condensation is not there anymore.

Minelab told me to go ahead and send my detector in. So I hope my new used Dual
field comes in soon.

That's great! You have to love their customer service.
