Headphone cord too long.

This is a stupid question probably, but I have a good set of headphones I use for my V., but the cord is too long and gets in the way. I do not want to cut it, and I have tried ties and rubber bands, but it always comes undone while out in the field. Is there a simple device that I could make or buy to take up the slack w/o damaging the cord?
Thx,
Andy

I've got a similar issue. I bought a light-weight pair of phones for summer-hunting and between the inline volume adaptor and the phones themselves, I've got 2' or more of unneeded cable.

I wrap my hand grip in some of the self-sticking ace bandage stuff just to help keep it clean. I think that I am going to re-wrap my phones cord down the stem and take it all the way to the rear of the rod. If I still have too much wire, I will just wrap it around the pole. I'll just use that ace bandage stuff to keep it all tied down. You can get it in camo and all the base colors and it comes off cleanly and easily - way cleaner than electrical tape.

Radio shack has some nice velcro straps.I strap extra cord. With the headphone jack in the front, the cord can get in the way.My cord comes out the rear of the arm rest because on my Tesoros i us a koss headphone volume controller. :O

Take 1'2 inch or 3/4 inch pipe...wrap the cord around it tight together in the rod...take a hair dryer or heat gun and slowly heat the cord..(don't burn it) this will take a couple minutes or so...let cool down for 15/ 20 minutes...bingo..you have a coiled cord..
