Headphones for ACE 250

Hi all,

I'm getting a list together of things to buy when I purchase the ACE 250. I was wondering what headphones present users are using with the 250 and how well they are liked. All suggestions will be appreciated and if anyone has had bad experiences with any, I would like to hear about that also before I pick a set.

I'm using a real cheap pair that kill my large protruding ears after an hour. I'm just going to get a 30 dollar pair like those cheap ones in kellico. I had a pair like them but lost them. Whatever you do get you need something with volume control. Otherwise youll blow your eardrums.

Killer Bee head phones are top notch,designed for metal detecting have a 32 notch volume control and run around $69.00. Have used them for quite a while and they out perform other more expensive brands that I have had over the years.This is Killer Bee's motto you can send them back no questions asked if you do not like them .They have a great warranty and are built very well. do your self a favor and Take a look at them. Bar none the best phones I have owned to date.

Glad to hear you are getting a 250. The Ace headphones that came with mine are OK for something that comes included. I like a full cup headphone and these are not. Because the Ace 250 really bongs the coins, you will need either earplugs or headphones with volume control. I have the Grey Ghost Ultimate with volume control, and think they are just great. I really think if you just get a name brand that are suited for your tastes and has volume control, you will be one happy camper.
PS One thing I really don't like about the Ace earphones (I know you can't expect everything for a freebie) is that they don't have a coil up wire-cord. Drives me nuts!

That I got on E-bay for around $15, I also have a set of the Koss TD 81s and don't see alot of practical difference on the 250.

The Vancos have external volume adjustments, are comfortable, tough and a decent value I think.
Also, if they get torn-up while busting brush etc. you aren't out alot of money. I mostly use the Koss' on my Tejon or while hunting jewelry with the 1000 PM in Bi-Level audio.

The rest of the time I'm using the "cheapies" with good results.

Does anyone have any problem with being blasted by high level tones on any of these? I was thinking I may want a pair with a limiter circuit. Any thoughts on this?
