GOING TO TRY THE NEW COINSTRIKE TOMORROW ON A IRON INFESTED HORSE FIELD, TONS OF SQ. NAILS & SHOES, BUT ALSO SOME OLDER COINS. IF THE WEATHER BREAKS! HAD ENOUGH RAIN & WIND ALREADY,THIS YEAR.
ANYWAY BEING I`M HOUSE BOUND TODAY ,THOUGHT I`D ASK IF THERE IS A BRAND OF HEADPHONES THAT WORK BETTER THAN OTHERS WITH THE COINSTRIKE ?
THANKS FOR ANY THOUGHTS!

Might not work for you, but have had several kinds, and I ended up with the Fisher phones, the ones that are $40 some odd dollars, i cannot hear some high pitch sounds that some phones put out due to an injury in the Marines, the Fishers are a lower pitch, some are loud and treble sounding, be nice if you could try brands out before you buy, would of saved me a lot of money, Good Luck

I`LL HAVE TO CHECK THEM OUT,IF I CAN FIND A DEALER CLOSE BY. I`M A LITTLE TONE DEFF ON ONE SIDE TO. THANKS!

to me they are the best headphones I ever tried. That's all I will ever use & like Fisher detectors they are waranteed for life They look like Grey Ghosts but are alot louder, which to me is very important...

THANKS FOR THE INFO. IS IT JUST THE LOUDNESS THAT MAKES THEM WORK FOR YOU, THE PAIR THAT CAME WITH MY DETECTOR SEEM TO RUN FREQS TOGETHER, EVEN WIDE OPEN.
HAS ANYBODY TRIED THE RATPHONES I SEE ON EBAY?

I've tried all the top brands - Gray Ghost, Killer Bs, Timberwolf, etc. I just recently got a set of the RatPhones to try.
What I've found is maximum volumn is very similar for all the top brands. So for me what I look for is tone response and differentiation to help identify items in trash.
Where the top brands rank that way is from very good (Timberwolf) to great (Killer Bs) to outstanding (RatPhones). My ears are actually able to pick up the individual but very similar signals in trash with the RatPhones better than any of the other brands, meaning I think the RatPhones do the best job of giving that tonal differentiation. They are also just a bit cheaper than the other top of the line phones, they are also warranted for life, and have a cord that can be changed in the field. But what I like best is that tonal differentiation - as great as the Killer Bs are, the RatPhones to my ears are even better.
