Im recently using Koss headphones and detecting with a xs, is their a better match up? I was told not all heaphones are compatible with the explorer xs, is this true? Thanks

I was told that too, but I've been through several different brands; Sony, Koss, and Maxell... and every one I've tried has worked. I'm still trying to justify buying the Gray Ghost headphones, but so far no one has given me a reason why they are so much better than a pair of Sony headphones.

I use Koss TD 80's on the XS and all my detectors and like them alot. I'll bet you I was the first one to do this, have had them for many years, wore the first set out on my sterio and was probably the ist person to talk about them on the forums. No one knew about them. Now detector dealers sell them every where. Got them for 38 bucks.

Thats one things the Koss don't do is cut out external noise, I was out the other day when the wind came up really hard, spring in Oklahoma, thats all you could hear was it rushing thru the ear cups, no internal sound was audiable, however thats spelled. And the tone is nuetral, just white noise, smoe may not like it.
