I also have a hearing loss, wear aids in both ears. I can hear the MXT with out the aids quite well, I would reccommend that you consider a set of Gray Ghost head phones. If you can find someone who will let you try a set you will see what I mean. It is like going into a sound proof room, every sound the detector makes you are able to hear. With my aids on I have to turn the phones down and operate the aids as low as they will go. So.... I would not be concerned with being able to hear the MXT, if you have the right head phones you will do OK.

I lost my hearing at 3800-4200 cycles back when
I was young racing motocross. I have trouble hearing
some things but no trouble with the MXT at all. I
use a single headphone by Killer B called the
Stinger. It takes a little getting used to but it
is awesome, even with the hearing loss, after ya
get use to it. Best to all, Richard'nTn

I too wear very powerfull aids in both ears as I am total deaf in high pitched sounds. The other tones are bad too, but seem to get by and the MXT has a very good audio and wish my Explorer was close. I have tried many different headphones and found that the Timberwolfs are the loudest if you do need the volume, but the Gray Ghost will work too for those that dont need the max volume. I tried a set of the new Sunray headphones and they have a very good audio, very comfortable and a nice set of headphones that work excellent on the MXT.
Like I say the MXT has very good audio and will work for most that are hard of hearing with a good set of headphones.

no you will have no problems at all your hearing loss is dependant on the amount of air between the signal being generated and your ear drums therefore when you put headphones on you will hear the full tonal range as there is a minimal distance involved this is a completly different problem to deafness which affects overall hearing ;however the quality of the headphones will affect what you do hear so go for the best you can afford i know all this for fact as i am a fellow sufferer and either the mxt or dfx will suit you fine
