Heart attack!

I detected this coin some time ago in a local park and my heart was pounding thinking I got a gold coin! Apart from cleaning it AFTER I found it was only worth next to nothing, I haven't changed the color in any way. If I had a weak heart, which I fortunately don't! I don't think I would be posting this!...and this proves to me that you never know what your going to dig next. It I.D'ed at 37 with a high tone so it should have tipped me off from the get-go!

So what did you find about it? Obviously a mexican coin of some kind.

Actually in good shape here's some data on it

The 1000 peso coin was minted by Mexico from 1988 to 1992. It was equal to 1000 pesos.

The coin was composed of an aluminum-nickel-bronze alloy and weighed 15.17 grams. It had a diameter of 30.5 millimeters and a thickness of 2.81 millimeters, making it a rather large coin. Thanks edjcox for posting that info! I believe it's only worth $1-$2 if that, so it's a coin destined for my 'unusual finds' box! along with all the other weird and unusual finds I have collected in the past!!!
It's a beautiful Monday morning here in SoCal and after I get all the must do jobs taken care off, I'm planning at least 2 beach trips this week but please don't tell my wife!!!LOL!!
