Heart stopping hunt!!!

Went with Deerman to some lakes on Saturday. The last one we hit was going on 9:00pm. I was hunting the dropoff on a very popular swimming lake that is very clear. I was getting a lot of change and then the pulltab sound. I pulled up this beautiful gold ring with about a half karat pear shaped diamond in it. Stuffed it in my BC and continued hunting. Well it was almost time for the park to close at 10:00 and we had to leave. I showed him the ring and it was so dark we couldn't see what markings were inside. We leave the park and get gas and I can't find where I put my loop. Search the whole car. Get to his house and I finally find it. The ring is copper...... Boy was I peeved!! I reaally thought I had something nice.

Oh well John got the gold this trip. My finds were, that stupid ring which I can't seem to locate at the moment, 1 buffalo, 3 mercs, 1 silver rosey, one silver
Washington, one silver dime I can't identify yet, a silver cross and chain, a silver ring and a junk ring and the brass anchor pin and the tootsitoy tank.

you're about two or three grand ahead of me for this season..

This most recent hunt just proves you're mortal. :lol:

I lost a fairly new rod and real in 23 feet of water yesterday. Not sure if I can pinpoint where I was and I'm having problems clearing for some reason. Maybe I'll retrieve it in a week or three.

Don't worry. I have faith in ya. You'll post gold next time.

Hi Gang,

A while back I found a large mens 14K setting with a 1Kt diamond that MADE MY DAY!!! until I noticed the scratches on the stone------ (CZ)!!

What a dirty trick!!!

My heart still pounds at the memory!!!

There should be a law. People can only swim with real jewlery. Others fined. That might get us some more good finds!!!

BTW, That one unidentifiable dime is a 1901 Barber. I just got the corrosion off of it. I don't find many Barber dimes in the water.
 
At least you have found SOMETHING over this season thus far. I am really starting to feel discouraged about not finding anything of value. Even when Rob lets me use his excal, I find nadda. I think he is more discouraged by my lack of findings than I am! Always saying "today is your day, Jess". And I can tell at the end of the night that he feels badly, when he should feel awesome cause he always finds something. Well, as long as he finds stuff I'm Happy. :twodetecting:

Magyar, Very nice to see you here. It wasn't fun finding it at almost 10:00 at night and not beeing able to tell what it was until almost an hour later!! Total letdown!!!
