found this on tues following in the footsteps of a buddy with a e/trac he totally missed it ,for the less knowledgeable its a roman lead pig (ingot ) made into a suspension weight ,it actually weighs in at no less than six and threequarter pounds ,that ties in with the roman markings of V11 on it ,i.ve shown it with a english fifty pence piece for scale and thats a fairly big coin .to say that this item was deep would be understating the obvious .it was very deep down on the subsoil in fact, probably getting on for two foot down in fact. i thought it was big iron at first but the tone was to sweet with a solid lock on of 84 ,that blew my eardrums away .as a matter of interest i put it in my display case on a glass shelf and i could visibly see the glass starting to bend so i took it out and put it on a wooden shelf ,

Super find, Coen! Yes, the 50p piece is roughly the size of the US 50c piece. Gives us an idea as to how big this ingot is! Very nice recovery!
