Heavily jeweled barrette and a solid gold hand-made ring...

Uncle Willy

Stopped at a playground on the way to the store and picked this bit of clad up plus the two goodies. When I first picked up the ring I thought it was junk until I got it home and discovered it is hand-made of solid gold. Thought it was kinda heavy for such a small ring. Weighs about an eighth of a troy ounce. Inside is stamped TR VINH # 1. Don't think the jewels in the barrette are real but sure is purty. It's a heavy sucker also.

It has the look of very high carat gold to me but very difficult to tell from a photo. You're having some week there, Bill!

Those surprise finds are always nice to get.

Yeah whoever made this ring wasn't much of a craftsman. It's pretty crude. Looks like they just melted a nugget and formed a ring out of it the best way they could.

Bill.

I think it's close to 22 or 24 KT as it's soft and bends easy. Got a lot of small nicks and gouges on it where it got bumped into things.

Bill

Actually up close it's ugly. Whoever made it didn't know what they were doing but at the current rate for gold it's worth about $110 so I don't care.

Yeah that's my thought. Almost got dumped in my junk ring bag until I checked it out. It's very crudely made. I wighed it on my scale and it'sworth about a hundred bucks or more at spot price.
