Hello everyone! Ole man winter has arrived, as we have a little of the white flakes...

falling but only sticking some to the shrubs and melting as it hits the ground! Hope it holds off until I am well enough to go to the bank and shopping...haven't been for almost two months, so out of meds and almost food! Just haven;t felt like going anywhere...even to the dr, but do have my next appt on the 14th! Arthritis aching with this damp, cold weather but Jesus is with me and I am still breathing and walking in the house that is, when I am not sleeping! The temp here is 34 degrees F. Was 32 last night, so hasn't been very cold for Dec this time of year, as yet! Gas bill has doubled though from the summer months! Just hope and pray it doesn't get really cold and stay that way for those large heating bills of $100.00 plus per month! But don't get me wrong, I am thankful I have a home and heat! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus! Amen! Merry CHRISTmas ya all! Ma Betty

We have had two mini storms where we got 4" and then about 8"
It has all melted and now is just cold and some flurries.
I would gladly take the $100/month heating bill.
With Fuel oil when it get's real cold we can use up to $400 a month! :surprised:

38 here last night but got up to 50 today. Tonight & tomorrow night to hit 27 - maybe some late morning detecting :) I'll pray for your warmth & medical, Steve in so az

Ma Betty, If I were there, I'd be happy to take you to the bank and shopping. Unfortunately I'm a long way off and cannot be of help to you. The temperature has gotten much cooler here in the Grand Rapids area over the last 24 hours. Personally I'd like to see the snow hold off and then warm up about mid April or so. Good luck on that one!

Thanks Bro Martin, but it it is not that I cannot drive but that I am unable to do all the walking in Walmart and going to the bank in the cold and damp weather because of my COPD....I have been coughing more and sneezing my headoff with nose dripping because of sinus troubles and congestion which is most of the time! Even if I rode the carts, for those who need them, I would have to get up and down to reach the food items and that would wear me out more than just walking! I have Chronic Obstruction Pulmonary Dysfunction of my lungs and when I am soooo weak and tired I just cannot get out...even with someone else driving! Shopping wears me out, so I would rather do without than to put myself through that until I do have more strength and feel better which seems to be less and less any more! I have a Chronic problem that will only get worse unless by God's grace in Jesus Christ He heals me whole in whatever plans He has for me! Thank you again! Ma Betty

would make it very hard on me and others who barely scrape by in this economy! Sorry yours is so high because of heating oil prices! May the good Lord meet all our needs! Amen! Ma

I'm on the "budget" plan at $300 a month. Hopefully, I'll use less than what I'm paying for :)

Take care of yourself, Ma, and don't go out if the weather isn't good. Is there anyone who could pick up your medicine & some groceries for you?

Lisa

I could ask my son...but he is soooo busy on his days off with his own family, home and errands that I don't like asking him but I have before! I have a big order of food, so want to do it myself and he doesn't usally get the brands I want but cheaper ones, which I don't like the taste of, so better to buy what I will eat! He has to come by and get my debit card then go back near his home to Walmart for my meds and some food and then back to my home again with card and food and then back to his home, so I really hate to do that....they are having a hard time in this economy, also! I have to go to the bank, myself, as I have to sign some papers for withdrawing some money before the end of the year which is getting close! I feel some better today and hope to get out tomorrow, if I don't sleep so late in the day, as by the time I get to feeling able to do anything, it is dark already...Got my days and nights mixed up...now I know for sure that I'm in my second childhood!   :) Ma Betty

We had a couple of inches on my mountain tonight and the timbers were absolutely beautiful as they were fully loaded. It was so beautiful as we were going to church tonight. It was coming down so hard and looked like winter wonderland.

I like to see white covered trees and large fluffy flakes coming down, but don't want to be out in it....too old for sledding even in a car! :heh:  Ma Betty
