hello guys need:help:with feedback on the sovereign gt

need some feedback on the sovereign gt.about to purchase one .whats the best all around coil for depth?does it have a long curve?is it an all around detector?whats the best meter for it?appricate your help---thank you.

Hello Semperfi61. I bought a GT last year and struggled a bit with it at first. I advise you to get a meter right away.It does have a learning curve but in my opinion only when you are figuring out the various tones it makes,they can be confusing at first. The meter will shorten that considerably. Minelab makes a meter just for the Sovereign and that's the one I have and it work's very well. Otherwise it is a simple straight forward machine with only a few control knob's to work with. It's really pretty easy to use. There's a lot of opinion's on what coils are best and that also depend's on what you will be doing with it. I'm not a pro by any mean's and have been asking question's about coil's myself. I think I have concluded that I have two of the best coils out there for the GT.One being the the stock 10" Tornado coil which comes with the GT and everyone say's it has real good depth,myself included. The other one is a 8" coinsearch coil, that one will help you in trashier area's and also has good depth. I noticed by your name that you were a Marine and Marines like to run alot and go fast but you will have to really slow down with the GT,that's one of the thing's that attracted me to a GT and it go's deep also. Two big pluses for me.
