Hello, This post is to introduce myself and meet everyone. Your forum has been recomended highly, and I am a new convert.I have just moved to Dobson N.C. from the Washington D.C. area and I am lost. I am an avid relic hunter but I just cant find em here. This red dirt is crazy! If anybody is close, please help. Thanks it is nice to meet you all.
Hey Mike from Balto. Ill post pics of those frenchies tonight.

Here you go Mike. Found at Camp Relay. The spur and the other were found at H-Town. The iron thing used to have a cork on the end and was used to keep the rain out of rifle/musket barrels.

If you think the red dirt up there is crazy, come on down to the swamps of Louisiana. Digging is impossible. I'm thinking of trading my shovel in for a drill.

I was checking the map of that particular area, and if you get a chance, e-mail me with the road you were hunting off of??? I'm curious about something

That would be called a Tampion NCShane. It is commonly referred to as a Tompion which is incorrect. No pic, but thanks for posting the other ones and welcome to the forum. Good hunting, David @ Dixie

Hey Stik, Good to see you here. Howd the ground get so hard there? Last time I was there everything was under black water. Remember the 2 foot chain link fence? Hey you got that new sov. yet??

I got my new elite a couple days ago. I have been messing around with it in the back yard. My finds so far are 17 cents worth of early 80's American coinage, 2 lead tire weights, several chuncks of refrigerator magnets and a brass tie clip. Please advise as to where I can find the Leprechaun gold.
