I went a hunting the other day and came up with 2 old copper coins if very bad shape. I'm not able to take a pix that would show anything. One is a 1805 cent that, on the obverse side has the word "LIBERTY" over the bust of some one that is facing right. His hair is tied up with what looks like a bow. The date is under ther bust. The reverse side has "UNITED STATES OFAMERICA" printed above a wreath. I side of the wreath is "ONE CENT.". Under the wreath, in small type is "100". The other coin is a 1776 copper. Around the obverse is "GEORGIVS III REX" The letter is "V" not "U". There is a bust facing right that has his hair tied with a bow. Looks like he is wearing a toga. The reverse has "BRITIAN NIA". There is a woman that looks like she is sitting on a globe facing left holding up a twig with her right hand.with "1776" under her feet. From what I can find out that coin was not minted in 1776. Could this coin be a counterfeit or what? I think the value is halfpenny......Even if there isn't much of a value in these coins, the thrill digging them out of the ground was enormous. Thanks, Dirty Don
