I’m not exactly sure I know what you mean. The detector is waterproof. If it’s the salty air environment you are concerned about, wash the detector down when you get home. Other than that, have fun and find treasure 🙂

hi, thanks JimmyCT, Thats what i was worried about. Garrett manual says not recommended for beach searching.

Garrett doesn’t recommend hunting in saltwater because its ability to find small gold makes it equally reactive to the conductivity of saltwater. The ground balance adjustment is optimized to provide the greatest resolution in the NORMAL ground range and is not designed to handle saltwater.

So it’s not that you can’t use it at the beach, just don’t use it in wet sand or in the water because you will miss small gold. Stay in the dry sand and you’ll be fine.
