Found this on my local beach, it is not in any of my coin books. I suspect it is a medieval jetton. It's made of brass and realy got the the old heart beating a little faster as I thought it was gold. Any body out there with a better education than me.
 
Please post a higher resolution pic. Also can you read any of the markings on it?
