Found this on my local beach, it is not in any of my coin books. I suspect it is a medieval jetton. It's made of brass and realy got the the old heart beating a little faster as I thought it was gold. Any body out there with a better education than me.The writting is difficult to read but looks like latin

It looks like a jetton but it most likely dates to around 1600. Although it appears French it was probably made in Nuremburgh in what is now Germany. The writing is quite often garbled. Where was it found?

Yo got it right, German Nuremburgh 1480-1490. I managed to find it in a old "Treasure Hunter" the next day after posting it Cheers again!
