help with settings

looking for some help,ill start with my present setup on my minelab explorer,sens21,thresh7,sounds ferrous,gain9,recovery normal,limits max,var 9,fast off,deep on,iron mask which i still have problems with,i run at 0 or 3. my problem is after months of scanning i havent found a single coin,i must be doing something wrong?i have found a lot of shotgun shells,rifle shells,large copper and brass items,some spoons,caps,brass clock gears,lots of rusty nails,big pieces of rusty iron,i understand repeating signals and most of what the settings do except iron mask,if your masking iron wont you loose a lot of coins?i hunt old foundations from the turn of the century,if that helps.

Well, it sounds like to me you aren't having any trouble picking up the big stuff but the little stuff is evading you. And at the places you hunt, the coins should be pretty deep. So I would guess that you might run your sens up to 24 or 25 for starters. And probably back off the gain a tad. And if you are getting the big stuff and missing the little stuff, slowing down your swing may be in order.
