Help with T2

50 up disc puts the machine in over drive and it can be erratic in some areas. Play with the tones and see what you like. Preset sens is pretty deep in most areas..but upping it to about 65 or 70 to learn it is pretty acceptable. Much past that and you will get annoyed at all the sounds you will hear till you know the machine.

One other thing.. You are going to hear target hits that unless you have used other Ft machines recently that you never knew were in the ground. Listen for the high hits, and low hits in fast responses..usually it's a coin that's been masked out by your other detectors due to response speed. The t2 is really fast on recovery .

first off that was a very good choice! i sold my mxt and started buying tek machines. best decision ive made in a while. get to know your machine and learn it. it wont let you down. ive used alot of machines over the years and im not brand loyal, but everyone has to try these tek machines.

Haven't had my T2 for very long, but I have noticed a few things that will help it run smoothly.

In heavy iron I like to run in 2+ tone mode with default disc (10 I think) and sens between 60 to 75, but definitely run your sens lower until you get used to the machine. Any more sensitivity and it starts to false a bit much for me in heavy iron. Good targets hit a lot harder and more consistently for me in heavy iron with 2+ tone mode and I don't use much disc because hearing the iron helps to separate a good hit from falsing. When you hear a good hit among lots of iron use pinpoint to see how many targets are near/under the coil. Center your coil over each and check in disc. This will give you the best ID in trashy ground. In open areas with little trash I like to run in all metal with high sens (in the 90's). You'll hear ground minerals, but a good target will stand out quite well amongst the background noise.

Buying the T2 is the best decision I've made as far as detecting goes. It's opened up new opportunities for me in my heavily mineralized ground. Get to know the machine and you'll love what it can do for you...especially in heavy iron.
