I got me a B.H sharpshooter 2 and it seems to make noise's that don,t seem to be a target and it will do this when the coil is in the air. Is this normal?

Is your Sensitivity set too high??? If not, check the plug from the coil to the control box...Is it tight??? Does it wiggle a LOT (do NOT force it)??? Are the batteries good..check em with a multimeter...If none of these are the problem, it is time to send the detector in for repairs.....turnaround time is about 9-12 days

hi gene, make sure your batteries are put in right too. on those models, i believe the batteries go in opposite each other too. do you still have your manual to read? it can offer solutions too. good luck, and hh

Some good advice for sure guys...mine does that when sensitivty is too high. when my cord is loose it gives random beeps everywhere.

What does everyone mean by putting the batteries in opposite??? I have never seen this in the manuals...do you mean turning the plugs opposite of each other, or putting one battery in facing down and the other facing up??? I do not see what difference this would make as the batteries for may machine and every BH I have owned had clips that went on the batteries, and attached by long wires to the board....

oh yeah, one battery goes in bottom showing, and one has the terminals exposed. it's a requirement on my 202, and i think my t4 is the same way[haven't even had it out yet] man, the machines will chirp endlessly. makes you think you have sens. too high - even on low - or are hunting under hi - power lines. will also make you think about calling in a priest for an exorcism. lots of false sigs too. hh,

I don,t know about all the rings and noises but the manual shows the batteries for the t4 opposite so thats what I do, hadn't needed a exorcist yet thank goodness

I wil have to try that next time with my Land Star...I never really did it before...I just cannot see the electronic logic behind it though???
