I found this on the beach a few weeks ago. It was covered with crud and I couldn't see anything on it.
I put it in my tumbler with the clad I found and it looks like this now. Dime is to show size, and it has a definate pattern on it.
Any ideas??
Thanks & HH'n

My guess is, it's either a really old coin that has been cut in half like they used to do in colonial times, or it's just a penny or something that someone has folded over with a hammer. The marks might be from a cold chisel or some other tool. Just a guess.

I don't know any way to find out. The patterns must mean something. They are too near like each other. It looked real old the way it looked when I found it, but I couldn't see the markings.
