Here's how I bullet proof my GB-2's contorl panel.

If the control panel on you metal detector is not sealed, how do you bullet proof it?

The only weak spot on the GB-2 is the toggle switches. They will foul out when digging in areas like I posted below. The dust and dirt enters the toggle switch through the switch shaft. It doesn
 
... or something like to most of my detectors, except I dont stress over the coil cover - I just get another one when it wears out.

I have not, but ti should work. However, I think Id get something more suited to the environment
