I guessed the QTR was an 1899 Barber. Must have been the dime I was thinking about! I was close!
Nice find!

Great find!!!! Do you find all of these old coins and rings on the sand, or in the water? Or around rocks, or piers, old light houses? Great find once again, gotta love old silver!!!!

I find all those old coins and old rings at low tide near the edge of the beach...the coins are mostly around and under rocks...lots of work to dig them up, but when I hear "that' sound", I keep at it.

the beaches around here are verrrrrrrrrrry old..with lots of history so those old coins are plentiful, but the trade off is that the salt water damages them terribly.

No comparison to what I see the "relic hunters " of the ground find...the coins the you guys find and post I can only dream of finding in that condition

often times, the crust is soooooo thick , that I think "well, this coin has been protected ..should be in good condition"..but this is not the case...the crust I think helps the corrosive process..

Looking better and it is silver and old! God will bless you with old silver or gold finds on land when you do more hunting there! Just keep on, keepin; on serving our Lord and :detecting: :)

God Bless!
