Hey Bill, or anyone else, if you have a video camera, how about showing the technique of popping coins out of the ground with a screwdriver?

That's all I use. Just use a probe to find out right where it is, push the screwdriver below it and pry it up. Easy money.:detecting:

All I carry is a grounded down scredriver now adays and can pop out a coin at 2 1/2 inches, I dont worry about damage as
I am seeking clad mostly and have stumbled across several rings this year. I like poppin a ring out its more of a challenge
When I decide to check on nickles alot of times the pull tab will on the screwdriver, disappointing but still fun.

I would like to SHOW such a film to some treasure hunters. I was at a church and the guy had a Garrett 750 with all the goodies and I had my lowly 350. He had a TOY garden shovel, a sort of french-fry strainer basket, and a pouch with some of the most horrendous recovery tools imaginable. After receiving the target response and IDing it, he would proceed to hack! hack! hack! until he made a rectangular piece of sod about 2" deep. Then he would scoop this piece of sod and FLIP his Garrett on it's back-run the sod piece over the coil. If the target wasn't in the strip, he would FLIP his 750 over and repeat until he got a signal, then place the dirt in the basket and shake until he found the target. Not only was this a horrible way to dig-but I would never think of treating my detector in such a fashion. It was his property so I kept my mouth shut and he allowed me to search. Of course I found coins he missed and I would just stick my thin screwdriver in the ground until I touched the coin, then move it over about a 1/2 inch and go UNDER the coin and pop it out. 3-5 seconds compared to his 30-45 seconds! If noone beats me to it, I will try to get my wife's recorder and make one-but I would like to see the video geek's who could probably do a better job-probably treasurefriend.;)
