Hey Doug (DK)......

I thought about you and Joan yesterday (Friday). You and I have talked a lot about our yard sale trips.... This weekend (Thursday - Sunday) is the HWY 11 Antique Alley Yard Sale. "On the back roads of Appalachia for 502 miles, from Meridian, Mississippi to Bristol, Virgina." HWY 11 runs right through my area so I never miss it! Spent a few hours out there yesterday (Friday) and plan to go in the opposite direction for a while this morning. It was sooooo HOT out there! UGH!!!! I had sweat pouring at 7am! Today looks to be the same with temps in the low 90's and high humidity and high dew points. Storms are likely late in the afternoon.

I am blessed to have the three biggies (in the South, anyway) run right through here! The HWY 11 Antique Alley Yard sale, the weekend after Mother's Day each year, and then the Worlds Longest Yard Sale (Corridor 127) the first weekend of every August (it actually begins about 20 miles from my house and runs all the way up into Yankee Land.), and then the HWY 411 Yard Sale that runs U.S. Hwy 411 from Leeds, AL to Knoxville, TN. in the fall.

Hey Lisa

Joan and I are getting ready to head over to Trenton, Ohio for a city wide yard sale this morning. Also we have the National Road Yard Sale coming up in June. It runs from around Maryland, over to somewhere around where Ma Betty lives near St. Louis. Love them yard sales. Joan and I have talked about doing some of the yard sale that comes near you. Route 27, which turns into 127, is only about 10 miles east of here, so we may start down around Cincinnati, Ohio and head south for awhile. Love them yard sales. Got me a mini-Rex bunny rabbit at one about a month ago. Never know what you are going to find. Let us know what good bargins you come up with.

Good luck and blessings of God on your BIG yard sales hunting for many surprising items at a good price, Lisa, DK and Joan! Wish I could....I always liked garage and yard sales and went to where they had several blocks of goodies to look over and buy, depending on the prices! Always wore me out getting in and out of the car, though, but still enjoyed looking! :) May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Made it Trenton, Ohio for the yard sales. Talk about crazy. There were hundreds of sales, but the traffic was terrible. We stayed and wandered the neighborhoods for a couple of hours, but left without getting to a lot of the sales. I did pick up an old kerosene lantern for $3.00, and yes I paid for it too.
