I was under the impression that we have a choice when we buy a product. TRUE

I agree with KCK don't go out and buy the first new detector that comes out. YOUR CHOICE

Besides in this age of electronics every few months something becomes better. No beef here. TEMPUS FUGIT

I've just quickly read through the threads, and am left wondering what exactly you all are really complaining about.

Progress..?......Improvements?..........The T2

Hi Matt,

That's an old thread that got surfaced yesterday, Most T-2 users including those in California are still using and making remarkable finds.

As far as I know everyone who still has a T-2 is very pleased with the detector and as you mentioned those that bought one at the very beginning stages are the one's who benefited the most with outstanding finds.

And you're right, if a T-2 user can't keep up with a F-75 user he's got to be an unskilled T-2 user. Between the two machines are no difference in performance, Both are great machines one just have an extra bell or two.

Merry Christmas to you and your family as well,
Paul (Ca)

I own other high end detectors and must say after only using the T2 twice I love it! Very hot and very easy to use, A keeper for sure. Merry Christmas to all!

Pauls (Old California's) T2 was to use I just don't get all the negative stuff. Most all detectors will find stuff others miss but the T2 is in an entirely different league for opening up old sites for good finds again.

due to a bit of luck ,i now have a brand new t2 and a brand new f75 ,i love them both they are not the same machine at all and both have there uses ,at this moment in time the way i class them for u.k work is the t2 is raw power and depth ,the f75 is more sensitive and smoother .this is only my summing up and may well change as i get better with the t2 .one things certain once you done a site with either of these machines there ain't much left :twodetecting:

has a sovereign ever been used on these old sites. i've been to one new site with the t-2 and did allright. i've been to almost every site that i hit with the sovereign and have yet to find any thing but 1 wheat penny.

I have sent for Advanced Detecting by John Lynn... . I went through Bank of America
as they have a branch in England... If I were younger I would go to England and enjoy
what both of you are experiencing. I have always enjoyed your posts. The oldest coin
I ever found was in Riverside California. It was an 1857 Flying Eagle penny. The date
was clear, but I did not know what it was as it was in tererible shape... however I showed
it to Kay Modgling and she recognized it...

It has always been a dream of mine to meet some of the characters I've only known via the forums.

I have no illusions about the vagaries of metal detecting, be it here in England or the USA.

It is hard work finding the 'old stuff'.........don't for one moment think the UK is littered with such items.

It is the anticipation that drives you on.

I have walked many a long furrow and field, only to come home with a few bits of lead and buttons.

I would have packed up the hobby years ago if it depended on valuable finds. Metal detecting is more than materialistic, it's also about the guys you share your day with.

I'd like to be over there with you and you friends and enjoying your company. Anything found of interest, would just be icing on the cake.

I can dream,,,,,,,,,,Hope you find John's book interesting.

Best regards, and wishes for a Happy Christmas.........Sunday night here, and the carol singers outside in the avenue are adding a real festive air to the cold night.

The Christmas tree is up, and the lights are glowing. Presents wrapped and ready for grand-children and all.

Very well said.

May your Christmas with your Grandchildern & family be a great one.

Matt.R... My paternal ancestrial roots are from Great Britain... But I have long lost the
details... But somehow I've always felt a "tug" when England is mentioned. Hard to
explain; but I know you understand.

Your last line about the Christmas tree being up and presents wrapped for grandchildren
and all; really "tugs" me... We are older folk, married over 50 years and have children,
grown granddaughters and three great-grandkids. They all live near us and each other.

Like you I have spent time detecting with only some rusty item to show for it... But if I
find an occasional silver coin, I wonder who lost it, and how badly they needed it.
Sorta like touching the hand of the one who lost it and I wish I could bridge the past and
return it....

Today there seems to be frustration and uncertainty. But I know it will work out. It is positive
posters such as the ones on this forum that will continue to lead the way.... Best Regards
and a Merry Christmas to All...

I do indeed, and I remember your Christmas light show of the same year.

Didn't someone nick part of the display?

yes indeed they did matt ,still doing it but at a much reduced amount these days ,not so nimble on the ladder now :beers:

Hi Matt,

Great points about the T2. Problem with me is that you are "preaching to the choir". I have gone back to Civil War sites that have been hunted to death, even by many Minelab users and still have pockets full of bullets, brass and copper. I absolutely love my T2 and have never used such a unit with the sensitivity to small, deep targets.

We always enjoy hearing from you and hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year,

Rob in Tennessee

are you hunting in all-metal. i have tries every setting but all-metal and have yet to find any thing that i misswith the sovereign. thanks.
