Anyone ever try one of the sleep number beds? Memory foam? Select Comfort?
Just wondering what your oppinions are?
My in-laws have one of the three and says it was not worth the money?
What say you?????
I am thinking that when work pics up this summer about maybe getting a different bed to fix my every morning back ache!

We have select comfort bed. I used to have water beds. After my wife and I were married, she would wake up every morning with sore back from the water bed. Tried the "harder" water bed mattress and still didn't fix it for her. Bought the Select comfort and everything was ok. To be fair, I think that just a normal mattres would've been ok.

I do think the Select comfort will probably outlast a normal box spring type mattress.

I've not tried the Temper-pedic but often wish I would have when I had the opportunity to do so. I own a 'Sleep Number Bed' and, after two years, I probably wouldn't buy another one. I made the mis-take of not purchasing the 'numerical controls', when I purchased the sleep system, so I find it troublesome to find 'My Sleep Number'. The only way to find that 'perfect spot', with my controls, is to completely fill the mattress with air and then little by little let the air out until it feels comfortable. If I had it over to do again, I would definitely purchased the Temper-pedic and spend the hundred or so more for the better sleep system. My reason for saying that is that I am an ex-cancer patient and, as such, find it difficult to get comfortable anyway. As a matter of fact, my system has been used so little that I would gladly sell it for 'half' of what I've got into it. My system is a 'Full-Size' mattress with a single bladder. Even if one were to purchase my system and spend the extra for the dual bladders and numerical controls, they probably save a good deal of money on the sleep system. Most of the time I sleep on my new sofa. For me, that's more comfortable.

We stayed at a hotel with one. We were excited to try it out and after sleeping on it or should I say trying to sleep on it . I would rather sleep on a air mattress. I would not give 10 dollars for one .

7cents was talking about a sleep number....and I agree, it was terrible. It would have been nice to be able to have different levels of firmness for each of us, but we couldn't find a comfy point. A low sleep number felt like I had no support and a high sleep number felt like I was on a overinflated air mattress. ICK! Interesting thread, Mike! We have a 8 yr old mattress that needs to be replaced and have been thinking on this also. We bought a 2.5 inch memory foam mattress pad last week at Sams hoping it would help, but I'm not too impressed with that either.

No comment as I have only slept on the old fashion mattress and box springs! I do have a nice mattress pad and foam pad on top of mine and it does help but still wake with back aches and head aches now and then but I think it is mostly because of my age and health! My brother used an air mattress (larger than a twin) and didn't like to sleep on anything else! To each his own as they say! May God Bless each of us Who are His Children with better health and less aches and provide our every need within His protective care! Amen! Ma Betty

How sharp are they or are they Tami's nails?? Just kidding!! May God Bless with you both with a better mattress! Amen! Ma Betty
