I do believe that is a good idea they probably left a lot of good stuff behind hit it. Howard

Hey, I'd go back to any park that has old silver/wheats/Injuns, etc. regardless of who was detecting it previously. There's always something good left behind for the more skilled and patient/persistent hunter.

at least half the fellers' I see huntin' each weekend are using a Minelab:surrender:

A few days ago I hit an old standby park and there were 2 guys there with EX2's...one guy there with a Fisher 1265X...and another feller' there with one of the new X-terras.

I would put it on my list to hunt. I have been places and have been told don't bother they have cleaned it out... Yet I pull a lot of good items. I watch how others swing and the rate they swing... I am amazed that they find anything at all.

You Bet! The park here that is the oldest in the area and hit hard by everyone is my favorite! They all say it is "Hunted Out" I got my explorer last November and since then have pulled 140.00 in clad from it and 5 mercs and injun, about 10 rings, a Susan B., halves, 22 wheats, a Mexican 100 and 1000 peso, numerous tokens and watches. I intend to go back numerous times more. One day I noticed a lot of nasty holes left by some other detector. Checking the holes I found several good coins in them and in the dirt they dug out. The next time I went there a fellow showed up with a Fisher unit and told me not to bother as he had hunted it out. I asked him if he had a pinpointer and he told me that he didn't need one because his unit pinpointed better than the explorer. RIGHT! He was obviously the one who left me all the goodies. I reached into my pouch and pulled out two mercs and a Mexican 100 peso among a handfull of other coins. He then muttered something about telling the members of his club the park was not hunted out and left. If they all hunt like him, I have nothing to worry about.

If the site has any history to it and it was old enough for Silver to be present...I think I would have been over there detecting right behind them like a Blood Hound! They would ask if I was finding anything since I was digging so much and I would just reply that I was digging just as much trash as they were...making sure they didn't catch on to what you were really finding....which would have been a pouch full of Silver and other Goodies.:ninja: Now that's Detecting!!! :detecting:
