I finally got out and had some cool finds with the Tejon that i got from Nick, Mom and Dad took me to a couple of places and found some coins.
1. 1932 nickel
2. 1944 penny
3. 1904 big penny
4. 1700's Hibernia that is worn to bad to see the date very clear
I sure i will have many more good finds as i get more experience with Det.
Still waiting to hear some tips from all the experts.
Thanks always
Becky(NS)

very cool finds Becky. Good luck and get out there quick!
Its snowing up here in Edmonton today.

Way to go Becky. Looks like you are getting the hang of the Tejon. I've only found a few coins that dates back in the 1700's, and I've been metal detecting for over 25 years. If you get time, post some pictures of your finds on the forum.
Good Luck,
Nick(SC)

I also was det'ing at an old school and got a good signal and dad dug it for me and out came a toy fire truck Dad says check the hole again and out comes a toy tow truck, and this went on until i had found three trucks and a bigger gas tanker about six inches long.. Fun never know what your going to find..lol. Don't you call this a cache? hehe..

I can remember when I was a kid, and one birthday I got a boxed set of 4 toy tractors. I dug a hole up the top of the garden, and pretended that my tractors were mining gold! my mom called me in for dinner ... and when I got back up the garden, I couldn't find my tractors! I guess they are still there to this day 33 years later! I wonder how many kids have done the same sort of thing with coins, or even thier moms jewelry?????? <img src="/metal/html/shocked.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":shock">

Even if you never get or see another "tip" as far as using your Tejon as long as you may live, you're extremely fortunate in discovering for yourself the A-Number-One "tip" that everyone should know and remember every time they go out, no matter what brand everyone uses or what they hunt:
Hunt the placs you're *most likely* to find stuff. You can spend a billion dollars on a detector, but if there's nothing there to find, it doesn't matter it you spent a billion or a dollar. No detector ever made will make stuff magically appear if it isn't there in the first place. Maybe your mom and dad lucked out, or maybe they knew something they wanted you to discover yourself. Either way, it's little things like this that you should always remember and as you get older, build on by always asking yourself: "Why was this stuff here?"
Things like that turn you into an actual hunter -- and really the thing gets you enjoying this hobby for a long, long time -- rather than just someone who finds whatever stuff might or might not be there.
