Hey Vern, pump shotgun over a semi-auto. and why either way? Anyone else want to add an opinion be my guest.

A confrontation such as a home invasion, as you could imagine, would be a very stressful, tense and volatile situation. Nerves, adrenaline dump, intensity, coupled with fear and anger can make an otherwise calm trigger finger involuntarily pull the trigger a second, third, or even fourth time without you wanting to or even realizing it happened. I would leave automatics to upland bird hunting and duck blinds. With a pump, you have to actually mechanically cycle the action and after firing a shot it will not fire again as an automatic would, should your finger be a little tense at the moment. That's my humble opinion. The same is true for light triggered auto hand guns as well, like the 1911's with a 3 or 4 pound trigger pull. Practice and control helps, but stress is hard to control, so all ways keep the gun pointed at the thing you want to destroy.

Most states have excessive laws....20 holes when one would do...
Florida does not stand by that as long as your cleared of any wrong doing in the killing you walk away fine.

My self control would blast past the point of aim too shoot and it would be seek and destroy mission from the get go
If and I say if I thought about the gun watch out...if I didn't watch out  , I don't care either way on a home invasion..there is little too no warning!!!
The basics are better then nothing, bats, knives, lamps anything too throw

In most CC classes they warn you, about being sued...dead man cant sue ...seek and destroy ;)

Any gun is better then no gun and practice with any gun the shooter becomes proficant even a single shot...one shot,2nd swing and club,3rd throw at them
On a home invasion most of the criminals already have prior rap sheets so fill em with lead and go from there.

Stand your ground law also goes for folks in life threatning danger even if you don't know them you can kill the perpetrator if you see it as life threatening..
FDLE will investigate and most times clear the shooter ....
So whatever you get gun-pistol-singleshot-semi auto...full auto uzi... use it and get use too it some and feel safe with it :D..I can bet you will want another after that ;)

Join the NRA and feel good about being in America and free

PS...whew I dont know how Vern can make these long posts...  ;)
