Hope everyone has had a great week so far. I really haven't posted (or had much time to) since Loren went to the new ENT. I really liked the new doc and it was soooo refreshing to see an actual physician instead of a ARNP. I have nothing against ARNP, but when one is facing a surgical procedure, it is comforting to get a dr's point of view, as they perform the actual surgeries. In all likehood, Miss L will be having her tonsils and adenoids removed and even though I am apprehensive, I feel it's best and I know GOD led us to this dr. He was quite shocked at the size of her tonsils and that her previous ENT of five years had never wanted to remove them. She has been suffering from sleep apnea for some time probably and this surgery should help her in sooo many ways! I'm thinking it will be done during her Christmas break.

I've continued to volunteer at Miss Loren's school and it just blesses my socks off...I cannot explain how much I love working with the children. Many of the children come from rough homes and have behavioral issues, but I just love to love on them! Loren is doing so well and seems to have settled into a routine with school-she loves it. She has yet to score anything other than 100's on her assessments. I am a bit concerned about her reading skills, but I guess it will come in time as she develops more confidence.

I have had some kind of crappy bug this week and seem to be getting over it now. Praise GOD...we have had way to many health issues this year and I am ready to move on!

Well at least it would take me more than a minute to type all that!
Glad you are shaking the bug, and we will continue to pray for Loren.

God bless

Your volunteering is surely appreciated, even when the kids dont say so. They watch you and reflect.
Glad the bug is passing, Steve in so az

Steve, the awesome thing about Kindergartners is that they DO show you how much they care. They aren't at the age where they are embarrassed to show affection and most of them are starved for attention where authority figures are concerned. In a way it's sad, but I always leave feeling touched and knowing I touched them too--I get a million hugs. My biggest issue is making Loren understand I can't spend all my time with her.

I do the two finger chicken peck! But have gotten pretty fast doing that.
But I don't believe in texting, as I can think and talk faster than I can type. :wiggle:
Besides, phones are for talking! :crylol:

Good to hear from you Liz and I'm sure when Loren has her tonsils and adenoids removed she will be more healthy and be able to sleep better by being able to breathe better! Glad all is working out for you and Loren at school...sounds like a busy time for you both! The children are blessed to have a nice Christian lady caring for and loving them! Keep up the good work and shake that nasty flu bug off and stomp on it!  Ma Betty

Liz - It's neat that they do show you their feelings. I have volunteered many years at the local Gospel Mission and the guys off the street very rarely show feelings. But I know I am doing things - sometimes I am the only person they have talked to all day. Steve

Hi Liz, So glad everything is working out for Loren and so glad you enjoy your working with the children. I too enjoyed that for many years. God bless.

I'm sure getting those tonsils out will make a big difference. Make sure you have plenty of ice cream on hand and treat her like the lil princes she is. :)

Glad to hear that you are enjoying working with the kids at school. It doesn't take kids very long to fall in love with those they see every single day, especially those who are helping them and showing THEM some love. You might just be they key to a lot of those little lives seeing the love of God. As you know, I used to be a teacher, and I know first hand how easy it is to touch the life of a child. I taught high school kids, and not the little ones you are dealing with, but I know how coming from bad situations and rough homes can affect even the older kids. Just love them all you can, Liz!!! High school teachers do not usually have the luxury of having volunteers help out around the school very often, but I can sure tell you that I LOVED it whenever someone would volunteer to help ME! Even if it was nothing more than going to the office and making copies for me, sweeping the floor, or any other thing they did to help! God will bless you for what you're doing!

Lisa

I bet your favorite ice cream will be ROCKY ROAD. !!!!!!!!!! :lmfao: :heh:

Your Favorite Saying is : It only hurts when I laugh. !!!!!!!

Liz, A smile does the heart gpod. Enjoy. PEACE:RONB

You sound like Travis, Mike. He has texting completely blocked from his phone! :surprised: The more you type, the faster you get. I can type 100+ words per minute no problem, but my accuracy isn't all that great. Can't have it all I suppose..lol.

Thanks, Ma. I really think Loren has needed this surgery for quite some time and even though I hate to see her go through it, I am somewhat relieved too!

Steve, there's no telling what you have meant to some of those guys!!! It's a shame we aren't more open with our feelings (guys and gals both), we should always let someone know how we feel as we may never get the chance again.

Lisa, I sure worry about what this little gal is going to eat post-surgery. She is allergic to milk :( I forsee lots of mashed potatoes, smoothies made with juice, applesauce and popsicles in our future! She is such a picky eater when well and is even worse when sick. Combine that with her allergies and it drives me crazy. Shew!

talk at least that many words a minute, and the accuracy is pretty good!:lmfao:
I have texting blocked also! You want to talk with me! Call me!
My daughter can type fast too!
