How quick does your machine give you a # reading?? On mine, when I push in the GG with the coil about 5 inches above the ground, I get an instant # on one pump.... If I move it up/down a few more times I get the letters show up on the screen ..

Does yours work the same way??

Minelab balances pretty quickly. Usually within 2or3 pumps. If your getting anything other than the numbers, just find another area, and DO the GG again. Works for me.
 
I think I've seen that before. the letter A flashes. I move a few feet away check to make sure it's a clean area and try again seems to be okay then. hope this helps .also I prefer jewelry mode sure seems to work the best for me.
