hi all not been md long already on my 3rd detector, started with n ace 250 still got it ,like it ,found alot of stuff with it,bought a laser hawkeye of ebay did nt like it, traded it n for a xt 705 like it.i live near newark on a farm close to the great north road which the romans built .loads of history around me live on farm which was a army camp in ww2 close to normanton airfield from which alot of bombing raids to germany flew out of. got a mate who has been mding for years he has got land with atleast 5 roman villa s on ,found a few small romans with the 705 ,he uses a xp goldmaxx and a lobo st both machine s HF on one of these sites he found a small hammered coin i ran my 705 over it and it struggled at an inch to find it ive got the 10" MF DD coil on ,do i need a higher fre coil for hammered coins ,thank all

For those small hammered coins, a higher frequency coil is a good idea. But if you're hunting an area where target separation is key, don't underestimate the potential of the 6-inch DD at 18.75 kHz. The depth that little coil provides never ceases to amaze me! HH Randy

cheers , my friend uses the elliptical coil on his lobo is the 6" DD better than the 5 x 10 DD as my local md shop has a second hand one in stock for

cheers ive been browsing for a while ,this seems the place to learn my machine, aswell as in the field, no plans to upgrade i really like the 705 ,thanks all BB

Hello barnslyben, I'm not far away from you, live between J31 and 30, M1..... Just added the 9" standard concentric to my 705, tried it today on stubble, early days but I think I like it better than my 10.5" dd 7.7khz coil, I seem to be able to get between the trash and good targets better, pinpointing was brilliant too......like I said early days, maybe I was Just enjoying myself too much.
which is so easy to do with this baby.......
