Hi Eric , Goldscan 5C and Afterburner!!

Finally!! It's taken 5-1/2 months from the time I paid for the detector & afterburner, to receive the detector but darn, it was well worth the wait!!! :)

I had a chance to play with it at Surface Hill in Bendigo, Victoria on the Easter Weekend, right under the powerlines and right beside the massive Telstra Tower!!!
It's an impressive machine to say the least. The Telstra tower gave it no end of problems no matter what frequency I chose, but the powerlines were not a problem at all. Pretty fantastic when you consider that you can't get a Minelab to work within 100 meter radius of that area!!

The manual could probably use a FAQ section too.. It took a few calls to John Morris to work out a few hiccups I couldnt really work out from the manual!

Still after a few days to learn the machine, I can say Ive pretty much figured most of it out!

So Eric, I'm wondering how much longer I'll have to wait for the Afterburner? Already nearly at 6 months ;)

Cheers!
Shane

Hi Shane,

Sorry about the wait for the Afterburner. Going from a prototype to a production version is not always easy, and there was some other work I was doing which could have an impact on the performance. i.e. make it better still. This"other work" was to gain a proper understanding of the magnetic ground signal, particularly from Austalian ironstone. After making some special test equipment, I now have some good information on the ground signal, and the results will surprise many. Like Dave Emery and like Whites, the Afterburner will appear when I am fully happy with it and its performance has been maximised.

Eric.

Ahhh, I am sooo looking forward to it :D
The wait for the detector was more than worth it with the changes that happened there too!!

I love your work!!

Cheers!

Hi Eric, has this afterburner been checked for EMI in Australia? like is it legal to use here?
Correct me if Im wrong but as I understand it, theres a limit before you have to get permits or have the device certified?
I thought that minelab was already at their output limit for the coils and if your device boosts the coil that much more, wont it take it well and truly over?

Hope you can clarify this.
