Hi Folks; Thanks for the encouragement. I've been through HELL.!!!!! BUT I'm BAAACK.!!!!! :heh: I had "EXTREME" Spinal Chord and Column Surgery. Even I did not know the "full" extent of what they were going to do. I realized what they meant "after" the surgery.They literally rebuilt my Spinal column. Approximately 65% of my Spinal column is now solid metal. (Titanium), including my entire tailbone, Sacrum and Coccyx. I had 3 Surgeons, all top of the line "refused" to do the surgery because they all said there was an 80% or better chance that I would be paralyzed from my chest down for the rest of my life literally.!!!! My Surgeon, Dr. Brick, said look if we don't operate I would be completely paralyzed from my chest down for the rest of my life within ONE to TWO years MAX.!!! and there would be "NOTHING" anyone could do at all period. Then he said that look, if we operate now AND it works you will be walking within 6 months and I will have up to TEN YEARS of relief. Guess What ??? I CAN WALK and I CAN FEEL my legs to the touch. I, by God's merciful Loving Strength have now done what those 3 Surgeons said I could never do.!!!!!! I beat the Odds.!!!!!!! I'm so happy I could float. God HAS blessed me.!!!!! Soon as I can I'm going to Church.!!!!! God gave me back what Man could not; my legs and thus my LIFE. I "ABSOLUTELY" will not push it. I "WILL" follow everything the Surgeon, Dr. Gregory Brick at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, tells me to do. I am NOT out of the woods yet but I can sure see that beautiful clearing.!!!!! After I am really back on my feet the VA is going to assist me to go to school to learn Computers and AutoCAD. Thus even if down the road something happens and I end up paralyzed I can still work and support my Family. I'll die to make sure my kid, Katherine - 14, is taken care of literally. Please bear with my CAPS, QUOTE MARKS etc.. but I'm ecstatic and I don't know how to put into words what I'm feeling right now. I pray you can understand it. Anyway, I NEED to lay down now to get the pressure off my back but I'll be back on tonight around 7:00pm after Nightly News ok. Until later; May God bless all of you and yours. Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for the miracle done on Barker, for You are the God Who does the impossible that mankind says isn't possible! I am soooo glad to hear of your surgery going so well and your being ecstatic over it! This is a blessing from our dear Lord and Savior, indeed! Keep the faith that all will be well with your ability to lie down, walk, sit and do things without the pain of a disabling back for God has renewed you in body, soul, spirit and mind! You will be able to support yourself and your daughter; and our Savior will protect, guide and provide for you both! Keep giving Him praise, glory and honor for the great things he has done by His wondrous power and saving grace! I praise Him for answered prayer in your favor! God is good and is good all the time! I am sorry I am ignorant to what got you there in the first place, but praise the Lord you are getting, and going to get better. You know they made the SR71 Blackbird out of that titanium stuff, and it flew around 3G's or Mach 4 plus. You'll probably do better than they expect, and they will have to re-write their recovery protocol.
 
Hi; Just Kidding. I think I've already rewrittten their recovery Protocols. How I got hurt was that in 1995 I fell 17 stairs head over heals literally. I shattered most of the nertevrae in my spine from the mid back down and 4 vertebrae in my neck were also broken.I had several bouts of paralysis at that time. From 1995 - 2006 I had 5 major operations. Then in January 2009 I fell again on the ice in the driveway beside my house due to landlord negligence. I am suing him. He is a slum landlord and cares about no one or no thing. This time when I fell I cracked all the vertebrae from my mid back all the way up my spine to between my shoulder blades literally.I also undid a lot of the repairs that were done previously up to 2006. I have been paralyzed 14 times from my chest down in 1 year. I had a small operation in April 2010 that held for a bit then my condition just deteriorated from there. Finally this Sept. 28th I had this surgery I'm recovering from now. I just got home yesterday. I thank God every day. I "KNOW" it is not by my own strength that I am recovering and I will alway's give God the glory.!!!!!!!!! Anyway I "need:" to lay down but I will be back on later tonight or tommorow ok.
