Just wanted to drop in and say hi from Silver City, NM.

My favorite activities are coin shooting at old homesteads, mining camps, ghost towns, etc and going after nuggets and meteorites. But I like any type of digging around including bottle hunting, prospecting or Spanish cache hunting.

I use a Garrett Ace 250 for knock around work. Been hearing some good things about a 10x14? coil I think from Kellyco. Anyone use something similar?

I have a Fisher goldbug 2 that I use for nugget hunting. My favorite type of hunting is detecting around old mine dumps for gold or silver.

First metal detector I ever used was an old vietnam surplus mine detector-heavy back pack model that was parachuted out of a plane by an air force friend of my dad's on their way over our area Before metal detecting became so popular, but we sure did make use of it. Heavy as heck though.

Welcome to the forum. I use the 250 also, and the 9x12 coin works great, but it does tend to make the detector a little unbalance due to the size. Just got a Teknetics Delta and I really like it. Everytime I get a coin signal with the 250, I think a train in coming. (You know, the ding, ding, ding)
