Well we done it. Bugged out fer Hilton Head Tuesday morning and got there in time to chase the tide out till 7:30pm. Plenty of targets but... they weren't 'zactly whut we wuz hoping they'd be. 63 targets Tuesday plus or minus and 30 Wednesday. None of the "precious" variety. Found a little gold colored koala bear which I am sure is just gold colored. Went to Carrabba's Tues. eve for dinner. Ahh Carrabba's, ya just can't beat an entre of Callimari with their Marinara and Pepper sauces. Combine that with the company of a beloved woman, a well poured snifter of Courvosier and rocks... 'tis surely meet for washing away the muscle aches (combined w/1000MG of Ibuprofen) of swingin an Excal and draggin an RTG scoop with no "precious" to show for it.
Wednesday we arose with the chickens and hit "the lane" again only this time at low tide (about 7am) with it chasing us back up the beach. Tuesday's target-rich environ had melted away and the beeps were fewer and further between. 30 hits this day and at 11:30am we decided to leave the swingin and diggin of meager tickets to heartier if not younger MD'ers.
Late afternoon and evening activities awaiting us at home the Accord ate up the miles between HHI and Appling Ga. safely once again. Plum tuckered after these this report has waited till late Thursday for posting.
I seem to be adding to my collection of Matchbox or Hot-Wheel vehicles. Gonna keep'em now for a grandchild should one come into our lives. Wish I hadn't dumped the dozen or so I had heretofore.
Gotta quit HHi and make myself get back to Tybee and IOP in Charleston. Oh yeah, some of you may recall my posting this ticket I rescued from Tybee Island beach.
The five diamonds in it now grace the hand of my wife as they've been put into an additional band of her wedding set. I was surprised at how much they seemed to shrink in a channel setting of white gold, but she is pleased with it so there ya go. Worth it.
Hope you all got out and found reason to "Do the Happy Dance"
Good Huntin.
