Duing the early part of WW2 we had this shelter in our house to defend against bombing .Our house was damaged in one raid but we were ok. During the day it was used as a table for our dinner etc.
 
Very interesting that you put pictures of that cage on. My wife and I just watched Hilter's big gun on Nova last month and how Barnes Wallis stopped it. That man was a genius.
We watch a lot of BBC tv, Doc Martin, Midsomer Murders, Scott and Bailey, Luthor and the Detectorist's
 
So in WW2 you climbed in this to protect from falling walls and flying debris and such? Looks like a great farady cage for modern usage.
