The school was there from around 1900 till about the 1960s, now just a farm field.Had no problem getting permission, its nice when you can point to your house across the street and say "I live there".
The last time I detected this ,about 4 years ago, didn't do very well. It was chisel plowed then, this time it was disc-ed.
Almost didn't post these pictures. The fertilizer and chemicals in farm fields really do a number on the coppers.The wheats will clean up ok and the IH will look better but the LC is hit, Can just read "ONE C" and see some of the wreath. Other than that it would be unrecognizable.
Invited a friend to detect with me,he found 2 IH that were in pretty good shape. 1883,1872.
I thought we would do much better with the silvers. But we definitly found where the school was, it is covered wt nails and metal items. These things are masking the coins badly over a big area. Maybe next time.
