Hooked up with Rob ND on Saturday.

Friday Night, Rob ND asked if I wanted to do some detecting this weekend and I couldn't say no. I have been wanting to meet him since he lives in Fargo and put a face to the name. There were a few Streets about to get removed, with one already tore up so we decided to meet up Saturday Morning to try the Boulevards. I took along my Coin Finds from last year to show Rob just how a person can be very successful if they find sites that yield the Oldies still. He was impressed to say the least with the amount of Silver Coins I had found last year, all 323 of them. We chatted for a bit and then he wanted to see me detect once and hear and also see on the ID what some of the Deeper Coins acted like. It wasn't long when I got that Classic Half Dollar reading on Smart Find and it showed about 3/4ths the way down the Depth Meter. I was hoping for a Half since I haven't found one this month for Find Of The Month coming up this Friday. I dug down between 8"-10" and seen a Copper Coin the size of a Half Dollar. I wanted it to be a Half but then figured it must be some kind of Token and those are always fun to find too. I picked it up and noticed what it was right away. I didn't even have to read it and I gave it to Rob to look at. He thought it was a neat item and he soon tells me that it is dated 1915. I had found another of these a few years ago so I knew what it was. It was a Medal/Token Good For $5.00 off the purchase price of a New Player Piano. Still a neat item to find. I then got a Deeper Wheatie hit but it was bouncing around a bit. I showed Rob that the Signal was good but the ID was higher at times, reading up to 31 on Digital which meant that Iron was in the hole also. The Signal was all over the place but I knew there was something good there. I dug it and found a piece of Iron and showed Rob it. Then I found also a Rusty Nail in the hole and stuck the Probe into the hole and got that high tone hit that turned out to be a Wheatie. I told him this was a Signal that he must look for out hunting since most people would most likely pass it up as Junk. He then decided to get his Se out and start doing some detecting also. We both found some Keepers and like Rob said, I found more Coins than he did due to Experience and having the X-1 Probe. Lots of Clad was removed by me during this short couple hours hunt. I also had Rob adjust his Iron Mask from -6 (Preset) to -10. You are saying right now that Preset is -22 on the Se and you are correct, but shortly into the hunt, Rob ran home to get his Explorer 2 and use that for the majority of the hunt. I also explained that running too much Sensitivity will in fact cause Depth Loss if hunting in Iron Infested area's. I also gave him some tips on other Settings which hopefully will help in making him more successful when he is able to get out and do some detecting. Rob walked away with that really neat Pharaoh Pendant which really looked cool. I think it was made of Silver but no markings on it. It also was hollow and had that Silver Look to it. As you all know, he found a few Keepers as he has posted them already. It was fun to meet Rob and do some detecting with him and hopefully we can hook up again and see what we can find. Congrats on a few nice finds Rob.

Now here is what I ended up getting during this short hunt. I could have stayed longer and possibly gotten a few more Keepers but I decided to let Rob have some fun and get a few more Keepers for himself on Sunday if he returned. I only found 1 Silver being a 1963-d Roosevelt Dime but it still was fun to just get out and detect with a new face for once. I also found 1 Indian Head shortly into the hunt that gave me hopes of one of us to find Barber but that never happened. The Indian Head is dated 1905 and is in bad shape, which is too bad since it has Full Triangles on the Ribbon which tells me it was dropped fairly New back then. I also found 2 Foreign Coins once again. I have been finding a lot of Nickels lately and Foreign Coins for some reason which is an added bonus. The Foreign Coins are of the same Denomination and Type, being a 1939 and 1941 1c which I believe to be a 1 Centavos Coin. These Coins were 3 houses apart from one another when found. The Medal and Foreign Coins were cleaned by Rick(ND) on Saturday Night since he wanted to see how they would come out using his Rock Tumbler. I also found that Medal/Token at the beginning of the hunt. It is a Stone Player Pianos Medal. I will have a Close-Up of front and back in the post for you to read. I also found 9 Wheats dated 19,28-d,29-d,30-d,37-d,40-d,42-d,44, and 52-d. For Misc. items, I dug up 4 different Toy Cars. 1 Matchbox Camaro Z-28 Dare Police Car, 1 Hotwheels Panoz LMP-1 Roadster S Car, 1 Maisto Pontiac Firebird, and 1 Tootsie Toy Jaguar. I also found a Key and an Old Pin with a Flower on it. That's the finds made on Saturday and I am happy to have finally met Rob ND. Thanks for looking and Good Luck and HH to you all on your next hunts.[attachment 98432 DirtyCoins.jpg][attachment 98431 CleanedCoins.jpg][attachment 98433 MedalFront.jpg][attachment 98435 MedalBack.jpg][attachment 98437 DirtyMisc..jpg][attachment 98438 CleanedMisc..jpg]
