I spent the first 3 hours today looking for the gold bracelet I mentioned a few weeks ago. The detecting was much easier than I anticipated. I really expected the area to be full of signals in the foil / pulltab range, but I was wrong. Unfortunately, I still didn't find it:rolleyes:

After that, it was time to look for the old stuff:clapping: I only did one on-site pic because there were people around:ninja: When I find something good, it just goes in my pocket and I continue on

The first silver I found came in loud and clear at a deep one inch:lol: A 1945 merc. I wonder if anyone else ever passed it over thinking it was a clad penny or dime.
A short time later, I found a sterling ring at the base of a tree. The vdi was a full bar 77 at 4 inches... when I stuck the dx1 in the hole the number went up to 79-80. Figured I had a silver dime, but was just as happy to see the ring (US Navy).
I found it right where my coil is in this pic.

I also found a Buffalo nickel, a couple wheats, an acorn shaped charm and lots a junk.

Here's the 45 merc, Buffalo, acorn and USN ring.

Anyone know a website I could go to where I might determine the age of the ring by it's design:shrug:

I don't know how much longer I can continue these nice finds, but I'm gonna keep at it:beers:

Thanks for lookin:thumbup:
