Hori Hori digger

Any experience with a Hori Hori digging tool? I used a pretty heavy duty unit last year (Jackson digger) and managed to mangle it by hammering a 2.5 sledge on the back of the pommel. Ya, I queered it up trying to dig a frozen field. I won't be as brutal this time with this one. It's the black carbon steel version. I was going to get the stainless but a side by side comparison revealed this one to be more robust (thicker). I'll give it a whirl and see if it survives a season with me.:detecting:

I don't like stainless diggers or knives. They won't keep an edge as long as steel. I use a Predator digging knife.

I have broken two diggers already this year. I bought the Garrett Stainless steel one. I just got it and have used it on about 10 digs, It seems really rugged but the edge did dull already.:garrett:

I went though 3 before I made this one 12 years ago. It's been in gravel & lime stone driveways with no troubles. I reshape the tip with a ballpin hammer every year.
The ball I put on the end really helps the hands.Happy Hunting,Scott
