The Franc must be silver right?

1943! That means it was minted by the Vichy government during the Nazi occupation....wow.....it's neat to find a piece of history like that.

One can imagine a member of the French Resistance might have once used that coin to buy a glass of wine to celebrate the successful ambush of some German military officers.

The coin, top left, Ten Pfenning...can't read the date.

What's the coin top right?

Nice finds. Thanks for posting the pics.

1919 is the date on the 10 phenning. The one on the right is a two phenning(1924).The French coin is real lite so I do not think it is silver. It was found in Mourlautern Germany. About 40 miles from the French border .It really makes you wonder why a WW2 French coin was here. That is the fun of detecting. The wondering and speculating. :usaf:
