Hortsman cuff button

New member
This is a Hortsman cuff button. These are fairly common in the lake around my neck of the woods. They rarely have any gilding left. This one has no back. Happy hunting.

that's nice, it looks gold too. What neck of the woods (state?) do you hunt and what MD are you using?....I'm ignorant to buttons and relics, so what's a Hortsman?

Nice button!

I use several different detectors. Whites V3i, DFX, Fisher 1280x Aquanaut, and Mine Lab Goldstriker. I have others, but don't use em. The button just has some oil on it, so it might look gold.Hortsman was a civil war era button company among others, made them past the turn of the century. This one is probably from the indian war era, Happy hunting
