holiday for me today, so i waited for the low tide range and sailed down to see if the surfgod was home.
Never really got a chance to find out, and sat and sun sound like rain as well..............will wait and see

Got a good amount of coins for this time of the year. I'm tempted to don my wetsuit tomorrow and get in the surf just below where they where, got to be a piece of gold lurking near there.

You're right, this is a good number of coins for this time of year. Don't know where you were, but if it was at or near Belmar and near the surf, that's pretty good. Good luck if you hit the surf.

Still hard to swallow with all that digging couldn't come up with some gold. One guy got a small 18Kt ring, up near the pier and another got a nice men's ring with stones(CZ's/diamonds)up in Bradley Beach.
 
The beach filled in a couple of feet and coins were scarce.
I felt as foolish as these guys who took a quick swim. It was a really damp cold day.
