How can i seperating gold/aluminum metal with garrett gti 2500 ?

New member
last week i bout gti 2500 and i create custom mode for finding golds metal only , and use ACCEPT/REJECT and select on 3.5 range
but gti 2500 alarm for gold metal and juice pocket (i think it is aliminume) in same range why is the solution for me ?
and how can i separation with such aluminum metal and golds?

best regards.

Gold jewelry comes in all the way from high iron through pull tabs. This depends on the size, shape and metal make up. So you WILL dig tons of foil and tabs looking for jewelry. Any detector especially general purpose machines looks at the conductivity of metal. It's a sad fact that those foil pull off lids, gum wrappers, candy wrappers, pencil eraser ends, ketchup packs, pull tabs etc come in under the gold range. This is why you have to research your area to find where jewelry is mostly lost. I would suggest beaches, sand volleyball courts and tot lots. Hunting the right spots increases your odds of finding gold. But you will dig mostly trash. Possibly only trash?

Yep, Khouse is right bud. If it's gold your after then you gotta dig it all (except iron) for the most part. If it were that easy we would all be in gold heaven!:garrett:

I started detecting 25 years ago. You would think by now I would have a huge treasure chest full of gold jewelry and coins. I do not. What I do know is I've dug enough trash to fill a huge chest looking for gold. I'm not giving up though! :beers:

No detector made will separate gold from aluminum - foil - pulltabs as they all fall into the same conductivity range. Detectors are not magic.

The top 3 metals rated by conductivity by resistivity are: 1) Silver; 2) Gold and yes, 3) Aluminum.

Hope this helps.

p.s. I second khouse's suggestions on finding gold...

When you hunt, use an apron with 3 pockets. When it beeps-dig. Put the aluminum in the left pocket, foil in the middle pocket, and gold in the right pocket. Presto! Instant separation.
