How could I have been such a Klutz!!!

A couple of mornings ago, when I had just gotten up out of bed, (no glasses on) got my cup of coffee, and was headed back to the bedroom with it, I heard the phone ring. Since I knew there was a comfortable chair in the office, I walked in here, and quickly pulled the desk chair out with one hand and reached over to set the coffee cup down on the desk with the other hand, so I could answer the phone before it rang the third time. You see, our answer machine is set to come on after the third ring. In my rush, when I reached out to set the cup down, I tripped on my bathrobe hem, fell into the chair, and sloshed coffee all over the computer keyboard. I have heard what spilled liquid can do to a keyboard, so while I was talking on the phone, I grabbed some tissue and mopped off the board as best I could, but I knew that much more had gone down under the keys.
My son was on the other end of the phone line, asking me to send him an e-mail, commenting on a subject he was interested in, and I told him that as soon as I could get breakfast over with, I would get it off to him, asap.
A while later, after dressing and getting breakfast, I came back into the office, turned on the computer, brought up a new Word document, and started typing. When I looked up at the screen, what I had typed looked like something Royal might have said in the middle of a hissy-fit!!! At first I thought I must have had both of my hands sitting on the wrong keys, so I deleted everything and started over, only to have another one of Royal

I will be even more careful in the future sorry but its still kinda funny because i can see myself doing just what you did

...also on my computer it is obsolete, but gets the job done, one of these days it gets chuched out.But for know my extra pesos go toward my metal detecting hobby, which is usually more talk then action.
Cheers ojm bc

what in the world do you mean??
I have a cup of coffee setting right next to my keyborad as I type!!
I have thought about trying one of those bent keyboards but never have. I bet they are much more comfortable.
Boy some times I get my hands set one key off and finally look at what I have typed and It sure is jibberish!!
Good to see you are back in action!!

Maybe if I dump some coffee on my keyboard it would improve my spelling.....

Of course, you can type them so much better than I can! When you do it, one can almost hear the splat's, punches, bangs, bops, knuckles cracking, head banging, cussin, and all the other great sounds that go along with a "Royal Hissy Fit."

The villan, whose name was Syndrome, used that " I am your biggest Fan" Line.
Sheesh.... I gotta explain everything

I did the same thing to one when I worked for Sis a few years back. That keyboard started typing in an ALIEN language!

the only one that has done this! It does help to have a husband like yours, though, that will do whatever needs to be done to get you happy again! And I like his style, a trade for a trade! Glad to see you back, and hope your classes went well!

I'm a coffee guzzling klutz, not a good combination around sensitive electronics, and when I'm in front of this computer there's always a cup of coffee sitting on the desk just above the keyboard. I ruined 4 key boards in two weeks, 3 of which were ergonomic and one of those had only been installed 10 minutes. Wife paid $6.99 for a Memorex spill proof board at Walmart about a year ago and although I've spilled several cups of coffee in it, and the letters are worn off half the keys, it's still working like a champ. She won't let me drink coffee if I'm on her computer or the laptop .

But, now that I know it belongs to someone else, I certainly will have to change that line! Now, let me think. What kind of fan could I be? Guess I'll have to get back to you on that, thinkin takes me a while, ya'know!

But, are you sure you didn't have a little irish coffee in those cups, JB???

Linda, I count John as my "bestest" blessing! Our classes are going great and our Prof. is a wonder! Got to have a paper ready soon, so I can't spend the time in here that I would like, but maybe I can post my paper, instead of a story.

John and I have to do the pesos counting, too, OJM. Retirement has made us very imaginative in obtaining them wherever we can.

Do be careful, Wayne! It isn't funny when it happens, believe me! I'd hate to have to go without my computer again, anytime soon, so I am being extra careful these days, myself. I even tried to get along without my trusty coffee cup by my side, but that didn't last long.
